On March 14th, three students from Our Ladys College Galway Student Council Jaena Ascuna, Shayan Chege and Catrin Stewart represented the school at the CEIST Annual Education Conference in St Patrick’s College Drumcondra in Student Leadership. This consisted of various types of workshops regarding leadership in schools. Archbisbop of Dublin Dr Martin came to this conference giving an insightful speech of how he grew up in the life of the 1950s of no mobile phones, his friends leaving school at 14 to go earn a hard working wage, and education at that time! Also, Minister of Education Richard Bruton came to present an aspiring speech about the numerous challenges and difficulties we meet in our daily lives and most importantly about how to overcome them and learn from them. Many thanks to CEIST for organising this event. It was a great opportunity for students to meet with other schools and to share ideas. Well done to the girls on representing OLCG so proudly!
