On Tuesday the 7th February to mark Safer Internet Day, Our Lady’s College First Years and Second Years were brought together for a presentation which tied in a number of topics: Naming Bullying, Cyberbullying, How to stay Safe on the Internet, and How to be a Good Friend !
It was a very interactive session with lots of questions asked from students and videos been shown! We hope that the students are more informative on how to respond to bullying, cyberbullying, how to report any cases of bullying, and how to stay safe when using the Internet.
In addition to Safer Internet Day, Bank of Ireland representatives Aidan Lennon, Keith Higgins and Emma visited the Transition Years Enterprise class and gave a very informative presentation on how to stay safe on the internet, not only with banking but day-to-day life with purchasing online, how posting online can affect future employment, hacking, snapchats lasting more than 10 seconds etc. The students found it really insightful and have already been passing advice on to their family and friends!
