An exhibition of art showcasing the creative talents of young teenage minds in the west of Ireland. Part of the programme of the Galway branch of Art Teachers Association of Ireland 2018 is to facilitate an exhibition of junior cycle students art work. Our second year art students exhibited along with 11 other schools from Galway at the Centre for Creative Arts and Media. It is envisaged that this will become an annual event with a view to developing and scaling the exhibition up for inclusion in Galway City of Culture 2020.
The students were given the theme Sea-Change with which to creatively respond to on a A5 postcard format. Designs included everything from sea pollution, climate change, politics, gender and surrealism to Sea change being a massive transformation or shift in thinking.
