The House System is designed to encourage greater participation by both pupils and staff in the extra curricular life of the school. It aims:
To improve motivation to succeed and develop leadership and organisational skills
To improve attendance in school and at extra curricular activities
To improve behaviour and create a positive school spirit
To promote a healthy competitive school environment with an emphasis on participation and achievement
The whole school, from 1st – 6th year, is divided into four groups called ‘Houses’
Each House is led by a Captain, Vice Captain and a Guidance Group
Students will belong to the same House throughout their schooling
Points are gained for the House throughout the year and at the end of the year, the House that has accumulated the highest number of points is awarded the Inter-House Cup
At the end of each term, the leading House gets a reward
Any member of staff can award students a Merit Card if the student demonstrates any of the following four values:
